JACS emphasizes principles from the AMA Web guidelines (JAMA 2000;283:1600-1606).

As the scientific journal of the American College of Surgeons JACS has a particular obligation to protect the privacy and confidentiality of its members and individual site participants. To this end, the JACS CME Web site, jacscme.facs.org, does not collect name, email address, or any other personal information unless voluntarily provided by the visitor to the site after the visitor is informed about the potential use of such information.
